Abstract

The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with 6 treatments viz. Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 150, 200 and 250 g/ha, Lambda-cyhalothrin 5% EC @ 300 ml/ha, Chlorpyriphos 20% EC @1000 ml/ha and untreated control. Minimum fruit damage (2.33%) was observed in Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 250 g/ha with highest yield of 163.12 q/ha. However, it was at par with Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 200 g/ ha (2.67%) with yield of 159.26 q/ha. Population of natural enemies viz., coccinellid beetle in the treatment Emamectin benzoate 5% SG, Lambda-cyhalothrin 5% EC and Chlorpyriphos 20% EC were statistically on par with control. Considering the results, Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ 200 g/ha was found to be most effective in protecting the brinjal crop from the incidence of L. orbonalis.
