Abstract
Studies on bio-efficacy of newer insecticides and botanicals against red pumpkin beetle, Raphidopalpa foveicollis (Lucas) on bottle gourd, variety PSPL (Pusa Summer Prolific Long) revealed that out of the nine insecticides/botanicals, beta-cyfluthrin (0.1%), acephate (0.05%) and indoxacarb (0.01%) proved most effective while, NSE, neem oil and azadirachtin were least effective against red pumpkin beetle on bottle gourd. The maximum fruit yield of bottle gourd was obtained from the plots treated with beta-cyfluthrin (261.0 q/ha) followed by acephate (249.0 q/ha) and indoxacarb (244.0 q/ha). The maximum profit was recorded from the plots treated with acephate which gave benefit cost ratio of 45.67: 1 while, minimum was from neem products viz., azadirachtin (0.57: 1), neem oil (0.96: 1) and NSE (2.84: 1).
