Abstract
This chapter provides a comparative analysis of policy, diplomacy, and legal framework regarding biodiversity protection in India, South Africa and Brazil. The chapter proposes that these countries should amend existing legislations and improve their plans and policies for better biodiversity conservation and management; take initiatives and leadership through diplomacy in attaining the objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity and other multilateral environmental agreements at the regional and national levels; and actively participate in events and negotiations formalizing the practice and procedure for conservation, access, transfer and equitable sharing of the benefits of the biological resources integrating the states’ interest as biodiversity-rich countries.
