Abstract
The process or mycorrhization in spruce ( Picea abies) trees is characterized by changes in the capacities of several enzymes linked to carbon and nitrogen metabolism. The carbohydrate breakdown is shifted from the glycolytic to the pentose phosphate pathway. Moreover, there is occurrence of a cyanide resistance electron transport in mitochondria from mycorrhizal roots.
