Abstract

This article examines some of the confusion and controversy in the field of multiple sclerosis which is attributed to the apparent lack of a basic conceptual framework for understanding the illness. The relevance and value of the concept of biochemical individuality and the genotrophic principle as a basic conceptual framework are discussed.
