Abstract

Using a modification of the King-Armstrong method for acid phosphatase, a significantly higher activity of this enzyme was found in adenohypophysial homogenate from rats and golden hamsters fed methylthiouracil than in control animals. A significant positive correlation was found between adenohypophysial acid phosphatase activity and thyroid weight in rats fed for various periods with methylthiouracil.
