Abstract

Within the area of Poggio del Comune relief (S.Gimignano, Tuscany), different forest stands of different species were found on the same soil type (CHROMIC CAMBISOL). Some properties of organic matter content of the A1 soil horizon were examined in order to evaluate the influence of three different species (ilex, Turkey oak and hornbeam) on soil organic matter evolution.
