Abstract

The quantitative changes in the protein content of haemolymph and fat body during the period of development of sixth instar larva of Bombyx mori were investigated. The total protein estimated in haemolymph of the larva during the period of development indicated the possibility of biochemical changes and sequestration of protein from the haemolymph to the fat body. The magnitude of protein storage was found to be almost steady during the period of development. The physiological and biochemical significance of changes in the total protein level in different tissues were discussed.
