Abstract

Bioassays made with Mexican fruit flies, Anastrepha ludens (Loew), to determine the residual effectiveness of aerial applications of malathion bait sprays for control of Mediterranean fruit flies, Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann), in southern Texas showed that foliar deposits on bougainvillea, oleander, and citrus were effective 9 days after application. Some variation in knockdown and mortality was detected for the different types of foliage.
