Abstract

Pd(II) complexes of various donor atom ligands posses antitumor and antiviral, -malarial, -fungal, and -microbial activities. This review article deals with the structure activity relationship for a variety of palladium azomethine complexes in biomedical applications. Moreover, the types of different biological evaluation (antitumor, antibacterial, and antifungal) activities will vary considerably from one country to another. This study gives an up-to-date overview of the palladium azomethine complexes with an emphasis on the new strategies used in the development of new antimicrobial and antitumor agents. Therefore, the use of palladium azomethine complexes in medicinal chemistry is interesting as potential application in the biological properties with less toxic drugs compounds. The results in this review show that the use of Pd(II) azomethine complexes in medicine may always be promising and encourage further studies in the field.
