Abstract
Bio-dynamic farming is an alternative farming system where the chemical fertilizers are substituted with the mobilization of nutrients for the use of the plants from the environment with the help of high levels of microbes. This chapter discuss in detail the procedure for the bio-dynamic composting, Cow pat pit manure (CPP), Liquid manures, Cow Horn Manure (Preparation 500), Cow Horn Silica (Preparation 501), Preparation 502, Preparation 503, Preparation 504, Preparation 505, Preparation 506, Preparation 507 and Preparation 508. Other topics covered in this chapter are Bio-dynamic preparations in pest management strategy, use of planting calendar and the Demeter certification system for the bio-dynamic farms. Since the scientific back up is still missing for the bio-dynamic farming strategies, the objective of this chapter is only to introduce this system, methods and the preparations.
