Abstract

Binuclear Schiff-base complexes were prepared by bridging an unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff-base complex of copper(II) with m- or p-phthaloyl. The complexes were characterized by means of elemental analyses, molecular weights, UV, IR and 1H NMR (for metal-free ligands) spectra. ESR and magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the copper(II)copper(II) interaction is negligibly small.
