Abstract

Binswanger disease or subcortical arteriosclerotic encephalopathy refers to slowly progressive white-matter vascular dementia. Patients usually present symptoms including forgetfulness, personality and emotional changes. The aim of this study was to investigate the neuropathological substrates of cognitive impairment and dementia in Binswanger disease for the reliability of the diagnosis.
