Abstract
This is the fourth edition of the Burian-Von Noorden classic on binocular vision and ocular motility. This time, however, the late Dr Burian's name has been dropped from the title because, as stated in the preface by Dr Von Noorden, it is not clear that the views expressed in this latest edition would have been shared by Dr Burian. I believe that there is little to fear in this respect. ... it would be difficult to find a better reference book to read and refer to often. A change in this edition is the exclusion of the chapter on neuroanatomy of the motor system of the eyes. This is appropriate since a short chapter cannot do justice to such a complex subject.
