Abstract

The present article describes the use of the aqueous dextran-polyethylene glycol two-phase system for the study of the interactions between the bacterial ribosomes and some antibiotics like streptomycin, chloramphenicol, tobramycin, and tetracycline. As compared to other methods, such as equilibrium dialysis, this simple technique appears to be a particularly suitable and rapid one.
