Abstract

The binary liquid−liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for the system dibutyl ether (DBE) + water from (288.15 to 318.15) K and the ternary LLE data for systems of DBE + C1 ∼ C4 alcohols (methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, and 2-butanol) + water at 298.15 K were analytically determined at atmospheric pressure using stirred and thermoregulated cells. The experimental binary and ternary LLE data were correlated with the NRTL and UNIQUAC activity coefficient models. In addition, the distribution and selectivity of C1 ∼ C4 alcohols as solvents were analyzed.
