Abstract

We consider binary-encounter electron emission in fastnonrelativistic collisions assisted by a low-frequencyelectromagnetic field. The field is assumed to have linearpolarization and to be weak compared to a typical atomic field. Our work suggests that the electromagnetic field canhave a profound effect on binary-encounter electronemission.
