Abstract

<h2>Summary</h2> A lateral ventral hernia is localized to the spigelian fascia (the aponeurotic portion of the transversus abdominus muscle lateral to the rectus sheath) at the level of the arcuate line. The second case of spontaneous bilateral spigelian hernia in an infant is reported and the anatomy, etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of this unusual hernia is discussed.
