Abstract

The literature is replete with cases of cysts of the paranasal sinuses. The most common sites are the frontal and ethmoidal sinuses, accounting for 97% of the reported cases, with the maxillary sinus accounting for the remaining cases. 1 This case is of interest because of the bilateral location of the lesions. It provides the basis for a discussion of the criteria for distinguishing mucoceles, mucus retention cysts, and pseudocysts of the maxillary sinus.
