Abstract

Abstract This chapter presents a case study of “big social science” in the field of comparative politics. The particular case reviewed, the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES) is a collaborative program of research among election studies conducted in representative democracies around the world. The project is unique and rich with important lessons for the collaborative researcher. This case study contributes insights into the unique challenges of multinational data collections.
