BIG HIT to make Orkney a model hydrogen territory

Abstract

The Orkney Islands to the north of Scotland have been chosen for the development of a new EU-funded hydrogen energy project, called BIG HIT. This five-year project will create a replicable hydrogen territory in Orkney by implementing a fully integrated model of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilisation for heat, power, and mobility.
