Abstract
SummaryA retrospective study of the delivery of babies weighing 45 kg or more reveals that major obstetric and neonatal complications are not commonly associated with this condition. Furthermore, potential complications arising from difficult delivery can be predicted by the rate of cervical dilatation during labour. The data presented in this study suggest that the management of the large fetus should not differ from that of the fetus of average size.
