Abstract

The dynamics of a simple hydraulic oscillator (the 'Tantalus' cup') is studied. Phase-resetting for a single perturbation and locking phenomena in the periodically forced regime are described. A simplistic time-discrete model of the system is proposed. A few other didactic problems are suggested.
