Abstract

In this article, we propose a linear array with bifocal focusing in the Fresnel zone and the frequency scanning capabilities. The array operates as a leaky-wave antenna designed in the form of a non-periodic meander symmetric strip line with slots in one of the screens. The frequency scanning characteristics are studied using both approximate model of the line loaded with elementary radiators and the computer-aided finite element method. It is shown that the results of the electromagnetic simulation are in a good agreement with the approximate model analysis.
