Abstract

A Fortran package, BIFDE, which assists in the Hopf bifurcation analysis in systems of autonomous functional-differential equations, is described. Designed for flexibility, the program resolves generic and first-order nongeneric Hopf bifurcations in systems not necessarily of delay-difference (or even finite delay) form. The program's capabilities are illustrated by its application to a nonlinear model of 'chugging' in liquid-propellant fuel rockets. >
