Abstract

In order to have the dual advantages of isolated converter and non-isolated converter, to realize the soft-switching characteristics of zero-voltage turn-on (ZVS-on), a bidirectional DC-DC converter with a CLC resonant circuit is proposed. This paper presents a detailed analysis of the CLC structure and the circuit modes of the soft-switching resonant process. By using the Extending Description Function (EDF) method, the proposed CLC resonant converter can be modeled, and the system compensation design is carried out. A prototype of 300W bidirectional CLC resonant converter using a new GaN device is built and the experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical results.
