Abstract

Objective To analysis the trend of dmentia nursing and to provide reference for the further research in China. Methods The literatures related to dementia nursing were searched in Web of Science core database, and the limitation of searching time was 2008-2017. The Bicomb 2.0 bibliographic co-occurrence system was used to carry out statistics on annual volume, country/region, periodicals and keywords and generate high frequency key word co-occurrence matrix. Co-occurrence network diagram was drew by UCINET and NetDraw to analyze the research status and hotspot. Results Totally 1 104 articles were included, published in 94 kinds of journals. The United States had 422 papers published, which was the country with the highest number of publications. The core journals were Journal of Clinical Nursing, Journal of Gerontological Nursing, and Journal of Advanced Nursing. The research hot spot included: palliative care and end-of-life care of patient in nursing home; the quality of life and its influencing factors; the management of pain, agitated behavior symptoms and non-drug therapy; caregiver's quality of life, care burdern and depression; management of depression syptoms; and knowledge and attitude of medical staff. Conclusions The literature of dementia nursing has been increasing yearly. The USA plays a leading role in this field. In the future, we should strengthen and improve the diagnosis of end-stage dementia, enhance symptom management, and improve the knowledge level of nursing staff.
