Abstract

Introduction: There have been a large number of publications related to COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic. Indian authors have not lagged. For a country like India, the outcomes of pregnancy are the very important measures of the development of the health-care system. Methods: All citations related to COVID-19 and pregnancy with at least an Indian author were extracted from Web Of Science. These were analysed used bibliometrix library in the R-environment. The analysis of content included word maps, thematic analysis, and most frequent word dendrograms. Results: A total of 145 documents were identified with an average citation rate of 2.29 per year. The maximum number of publications was in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics. A total of 875 authors were featured 1036 times across documents with the mean number of authors per document being 6.0. The corresponding author of these documents was from India in 127 (87.5%) manuscripts. A total of 460 author keywords, 211 “keyword plus” and all abstracts were analyzed and the output provided in graphical interfaces. Niche theme include stress and therapies for COVID-19 during pregnancies while a basic theme was risk to pregnancy. Motor themes were spread of infection, and SARS-CoV-2 binding to various tissues including foetal issue. Conclusion: This analysis reveals an active part taken by Indian authors in contribution to the world literature on COVID-19 during pregnancies. This is a surrogate marker for the importance being given to COVID-19 in pregnancy.Furthermore, we demonstrated persistent and emerging themes for these studies.
