Abstract

Abstract It is usually difficult to separate the literature dealing primarily with Sextus Empiricus from the literature on ancient skepticism in general. Moreover, works on Sextus are often concerned only with the information provided by him about other authors or texts. The following bibliography is therefore selective. Because of the extensive bibliographies compiled on ancient skepticism (see next paragraph), only essential or more recent works relevant to the study of the fortunes of Sextus Empiricus and the transmission of his texts are listed.
