Bibliography of Water-Resources Investigations reports published by the U.S. Geological Survey from 1971 through 1982

Abstract

This report contains a cross-reference listing of WaterResources Investigations reports (WRIR's) published through 1982. The reports are listed by WRIR number. Most requests WRIR's generally are by WRIR number; however, the Survey's annual catalog, Publications of the U.S. Geological Survey [year], indexes WRIR's under the National Technical Information Service number, with the WRIR appearing only at the end of the citation within the index. Additionally, a few WRIR's have been listed in the index without any reference to their WRIR number; and some WRIR's appeared only in the discontinued Water-Resources Investigations folder series. This report lists WRIR's in sequential order to assist the readership in locating a particular publication. INTRODUCTION This report is intended as a cross-reference to aid the general public in obtaining copies of WRIR's published from 1971 through 1982. Water-Resources Investigations Reports published after 1982 have been assigned a series 4000 number and generally are available from the Books and Open-File Reports Section, U.S. Geological Survey, Box 25425, Federal Center, Building 810, Denver, Colorado 80225. ORGANIZATION OF THE BIBLIOGRAPHY This report lists the reports by WRIR number. Many WRIR's were listed in the Survey's catalog entitled Publications of the U.S. Geological Survey [year] under the National Technical Information Service number, not the WRIR number, and therefore are difficult to find. Most frequently, the WRIR number appeared only at the end of the citation within the index; and some WRIR's were listed in the index without any reference to their WRIR number. This report also includes WRIR's that were not listed in any U.S. Geological Survey index. Some appeared only in the discontinued Water-Resources Investigations folder series. The majority of WRIR's published from 1971 through 1982 are available from the National Technical Information Service (NTIS), U.S. Department of Commerce, 5285 Port Royal Road, Springfield, Virginia 22161, (703) 487-4650, or FTS 737-4650. The reports available from NTIS are identified by PB- or ADA- followed by a 6-digit number. When contacting NTIS to obtain current price information or when ordering copies of a report, refer to the report by its PB- or ADA- number. Some WRIR's released prior to 1982 were printed in limited quantity, with only a small number available distribution at the District level. Many of these reports are now available from the District offices as loan copy only, or for inspection only. Current availability is indicated within this report.
