Abstract

A bibliography of finfish and its fisheries research in Nigeria's inland waters ( sensu lato ) is compiled with 439 publications assessed. These are commented on with respect to geographic, biotope/catchment and taxonomic spread. The southwest of Nigeria was most favoured with respect to geographic zone: with Lake Kainji/River Niger topping the list (14%) of the biotopes and its species the most attended to.
