Abstract

Hot greasy wool was compressed to the same final density by using different amounts of wool in a biaxial press to achieve different amounts of compression in the two directions. The compressed wool was then cooled under restraint outside the press to find compression conditions for optimum strength, durability, and long-term packing density of the resultant blocks.
