Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper deals with the improved point estimations of the inverse power Lindley distribution. The maximum likelihood estimation method, and a simulated annealing algorithm, a heuristic alternative method, are considered. The bias-corrected estimation methods are also used to evaluate the bias reduction of the estimates. These bias-corrected estimates are obtained with theoretical and bootstrap methods. The performances of the estimators are evaluated with simulation studies and two real-data examples.
