Abstract

The design and performance of an experimental in-line harmonic tripler using a D5047 varactor diode are described. Details of the varactor waveguide mount fabrication and of the filter for harmonic power extraction are given. Results are presented of the effects of reverse bias voltage and fundamental input power at 8-8 GHZ on the third harmonic output power and the conversion efficiency.
