Abstract

This paper describes the results of preparation and conductivity measurement of Bi2O3-based oxides doped with mixed heavy rare-earth oxides. The range of x values in (Bi2O3)1−x(RE2O3)x for the single fcc phase aas found to be 0.15 to 0.51 Beyond this range the samples were multiphase. The temperature dependence of the conductivity of the samples with fcc structure exhibited an Arrhenius hehavior. The sample of x=0.20 showed the highest conductivity values, which were close or even higher than that ever reported in the literature in the temperature range of 400–800° C.
