Abstract

SUMMARY For several years, librarians have grappled with problems and issues surrounding provision of library services to distance students. The Multimedia Writing and Technical Communication Program at Arizona State University East offers the majority of its courses online. To date, the library and Program collaboration has focused on an information literacy initiative. To support this initiative and other course needs, the program director and a campus librarian have discussed integrating library services in support of coursework. This article focuses on the need for library support from the perspective of the program director and librarian as well as potential methods of delivery.
