Abstract
The field of systemic therapy though expressing a contextual view of problems has itself attempted to function as if it were not within a larger systemic context. It is in fact a “minority ideology” and not just a different form of psychotherapy technology. The future of the field must lie beyond its present boundaries. Systemic therapists need to become spokespeople for the systemic view in non-therapy areas.
