Abstract

During the 1980s, Italian industrial relations reached the threshold of maturity. In this context, academic studies gained greater independence, without, however, establishing a separate discipline. After a survey of developments over the last decade and reference to the competition and collaboration between social sciences and law, the special contribution of sociological research is introduced and assessed.
