Abstract
Dispersion relations are introduced which give the same asymptotic value for the vector and axial-vector form factors in the limit of high momentum transfer. The ratiogA/gV is related to the behavior of the vector form factor in the region of low momentum transfer. The numerical valuegA/gV ≃ -1.2 is obtained from the experimental curves for the electromagnetic form factors.
