Abstract

The influence of NAA and adenosine on the syntheis of betacyans in callus of Portulaca grandiflora , var. JR was demonstrated. Kinetin also has an effect and it was possible to determine an optimum. However, the composition of the basalmedium is an additional factor, which may control the synthesis of betacyans and/or the action of the phytohormones. Inorganic components, as Cu 2 + -ions, which can act as co-factors, where shown to influence the accumulation of betacyan in callus of Portulaca grandiflora , var. JR.
