Abstract

This is a 78 year old male resident of a long term facility who has history of diabetes type-2, C.A.D s/p C.A.B.G’04 hypertension, depression, C.V.A with mild right hemiplegia and osteoarthritis of knees and hips. He developed a stage – 2 left heel ulcer. His functional status required assistance in transfer from wheel chair to bed. Despite all measures taken to improve skin care and healing by facility wound care team, ulcer failed to heal completely. Meanwhile, the facility was cited twice, by the state, over a three month period for this resident.
