Abstract

In this letter we study the quantum scattering problem of one electronby a screw dislocation in the framework of the Katanaev-Volovichtheory of defects in solids. We find the scattering amplitude for theproblem and demonstrate that the scattering is of Aharonov-Bohm type.We observe Berry's phase in the dynamics of the electrons in thepresence of a screw dislocation.
