Abstract

AbstractA field experiment was conducted at the Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla, in 1991 to ascertain the effect of nitrogen fertilization on berry and true potato seed production in two commercial cultivars. It was observed that the 100 seed weight of Kufri Jyoti and Kufri Lalima was significantly higher when higher doses of nitrogen (120 to 240 kg/ha) were applied. It was further found that 100 seed weight was not related to the berry size.
