Abstract
The reaction of cationic carbyne complexes of manganese and rhenium with the pseudohalides cyanide and isothiocyanate yields novel carbene complexes. The reaction proceeds by nucleophilic attack of the anions at the carbyne carbon in the cationic complex. The structures of the new complexes are derived from spectroscopic data and elemental analyses.
