Abstract

Trihydrido silyl complexes, FeH 3(CO)(dppe)SiR 3, which have fluxional structures in solution, are prepared by photochemical reaction of HSiR 3 with monohydrido silyl complexes, feH(CO) 2(dppe)SiR 3, or with the dihydrido complex, FeH 2(CO) 2(dppe) (SiR 3 = Si(OMe) 3, Si(OEt) 3, SiMe 3, SiMe 2Ph, SiPh 3). In FeH 3(CO)(dppe)Si(OEt) 3 the iron atom is coordinated by the CO ligand, the silicon and the two phosphorus atoms of the dppe ligand to give a trigonal bipyramid.
