Abstract
Oriented overgrowths of crystals of organic compounds on cleavage layers of talc and cadmium iodide and of NH4J on talc are described. These oriented overgrowths are remarkable in view of the fact that thevan der Waals forces between the layers of these substrate crystal lattices are only weak. The crystals of NH4J oriented on talc have a square contour in contrast to the triangular crystals of NH4J oriented on mica.
