Abstract
Selenium trioxide may be dissolved in sulphuryl chloride and in phosphoryl chloride at room temperature without decomposition. Reactions of selenium trioxide with thionyl chloride and phosphorus trichloride are carried out in sulphuryl chloride as a solvent. For the first time, an IR-spectrum of dissolved selenium trioxide is recorded.
