Abstract

The distortion and intermodulation qualities of diode modulators were studied theoretically and numerically, to prove their aptitude as high linear translators in modern fibre optic TV distribution systems. In this paper the classic diode modulator using differential transformers is treated. If parasitic capacities and inductivities are neglectible, the influence of the non-linear diode characteristics can be estimated very exactly under wording conditions even in multichannel systems
