Abstract

The development of modified technologie is presented as exemplified by the manufacturing processes of 1) dense NiZn ferrites with 99.5% X-ray-density and NiZn ferrites for radio receivers, 2) MnZn ferrites for radio and TV sets, 3) BCV garnets and temperature- and K-compensated garnets, as well as 4) strontium ferrite magnets with ( BH) max = 4.5 to 5.1 MGOe. Among other things, the effect of purity of the raw materials (2) and of the ferrite powder preparation techniques on the final properties of sintered ferrites is discussed as: precise and controlled preparation (2, 3), preparation techniques resulting in single-phase (1) or single-domain (4) powders. The importance of the precise analysis of the final chemical composition (1–4) and the influence of low temperature sintering at about 1000°C (1), CaTiO 3 additions, (2) and hot pressing (1, 3, 4) on the properties of ferrites are reported.
