Abstract
Abstract Previous investigations of the range of the birefringent phase of mixed crystals having at room temperature the symmetry Pm3m of NH4Cl or NH4Br with simple halides of monovalent cations and the same anion are extended to the nonisomorphic partners KBr, RbBr or RbCl. The disappear-ance of the inversion symmetry in the cubic low temperature phase has been proved by experiment.
